This class is designed for children who are nervous, fearful, have had a bad experience or just don’t like putting their head under the water.

In this level children are learning to kick and paddle, to turn around and find a safe exit, float and monkey around the edge of the pool with lots of support.

in this level children paddle and kick a short distance and are becoming more independent, with this independence comes less assistance. We are still focusing on water safety in this level.

Our learn to swim program begins with survival skills including paddling, back floating & rotation and kicking, when your child feels confident & independent in the water we move onto freestyle and the progressions encompassing correct technique & bilateral breathing, we then move to backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Only when a child can consistently and confidently perform skills, are they moved to the next level.

Our teachers are Austswim Qualified and undergo both internal and external training, keeping staff up to date with current methods and techniques, ensuring we stay well above industry standards.

We teach without the use of swimming aids, floaties etc. This helps to promote confidence, independence and strength in the water. Our classes are limited to 4 students in our learn to swim program.

We’ve been coming to Marlins since 2011 and have always found it to be warm and welcoming. The new owners have invested significantly in updating the business and are just as friendly and committed as the previous owners. All 4 of our kids are excellent swimmers thanks to the dedicated and kind teachers and the effort they put into teaching kids of all ages. Highly recommended to anyone wanting their kids to be safe in the water.
